Newman Catholic College, as a foundation college, currently offers a dynamic teaching journey for students in Years 7–10. Guided by expert educators using Version 9 of the Australian Curriculum , there is a focus on design, digital, and inquiry-based learning.
In 2026 and 2027, the college will welcome its first Year 11 and Year 12 cohorts, who will follow tailored QCE or QCIA pathways. Co-curricular opportunities, innovative teaching strategies, and enrichment programs will continue to prepare all students for 21st-century challenges, equipping them with the skills and confidence to shape their futures. Being co-located on the James Cook University campus, enables the College to work collaboratively with the University so that learning and teaching is enhanced at all year levels, but particularly in the senior phase of learning.
